Child with hearing disabilities

Abstract

More and more pupils with special educational needs are coming to schools. These may be children who already have a certain diagnosis, but also individuals who do not have it, but due to their abnormal behavior it is necessary to work with them individually.

Teachers, teacher assistants and other teaching staff often know how to proceed in such cases. But sometimes this may be the first or a new experience with such a pupil.

Then it is necessary to have not only theoretical information, but mainly practical examples that will help them in solving various situations. This publication describes the top 10 diagnoses (from ADHD and specific learning disabilities, through physical disability to autism) that can be encountered at school.

It shows how teachers can work with children with certain difficulties. On the basis of examples of good and bad practice, it presents methods and procedures that have worked well with these children and which should be avoided.

It shows how to change or adapt teaching so that a child with special educational needs can handle it. Nor does it avoid evaluation or motivation.
