In 2016-2018, the National Reference Laboratory for Antibiotics and the Czech National Collection of Type Cultures (CNCTC) identified, based on results of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and sequence analysis of a part of the 16S rRNA gene, 14 isolates from field laboratories which could not be identified by the standard biochemical methods. All these strains were either rare or uncommon in the context of the given diagnosis.
