The Infinite Borges is the first monograph of czech spanish-american scholarship dedicated to Jorge Luis Borges. The view of Borges's works in this book stresses two aspects.
One is its relationship to Argentine archetypes, a tradition acknowledged by Borges and enriched by him through the creation of the myth of the Buenos Aires periphery. The other aspect is the focus on the genre of essay and on the presence of the essayistic principle in all the genres in his works.
A bibliography of Czech translations and the reception of Borges in the Czech Republic is appended.
