The Poetic Essense of Jan Zábrana's Translation from Anglo-American Literature

Abstract

The study shows Zábrana's use of a wide scale of linguistic strategies in his translations of both high-brow fiction (Conrad's Heart of Darkness) and detective stories (Agatha Christie), and maps the development of his translations of Anglophone poetry.
