Abstract

The book Diseases of retina and choroid in practice enables ophthalmologists to get information about the causes, risk factors, clinical symptoms, objective examination results, diagnostic options and treatment of a whole range of chorioretinal diseases. For differential diagnosis, other diseases with similar clinical findings are mentioned for each of the discussed diseases.

The publication ís divided ínto twelve chapters, which deal wíth retinal dystrophies, vascular, inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the retina and the choroid, childhood diseases of the retina and the choroid, tumours, retinal manifestations of systemic diseases and surgically treatable conditions, such as vitreoretinal interface disorders, retinal detachment and traumas. The entire book is supplemented by numerous full colour pictures of the clinical findings and results of examination methods typical for the particular diseases.

The resulting publication has the goal of helping doctors quickly and precisely diagnose the condition of their patients and to be able to provide properly targeted and efficient treatment.
