Assessment of body constitution and body composition in bodyguards of the Police of the Czech Republic

Abstract

The aim of our study was to determine and evaluate the profile of physical fitness of the members of the Close Protection Division, Protective Services of the Police of the Czech Republic. The group consisted of 21 probands, men ranging in age from 28 - 55 years.

We are measured the antropomethric parameters for somatotype (Heath and carter, 1967), we used BIA - Tanita MC 980 (whole body and segmental analysis) for the body composition analysis. In terms of measured average somatotype endomorfic mesomorf (2,7 - 6,0 - 1,6).

Compared to the average population, the research file was characterized by a higher body height, higher body weight, dominance of the mesomorphic somatic component and a higher proportion of non-fat mass. Long-term and regular monitoring of changes in body composition, the monitoring of relationship between parameters of body composition provides important information about the positive and negative impact of lifestyle on the body of the individual.
