Abstract
The Filter It software is developed for the training and assessment of visual selective attention and capacity of the visual working memory. It is our adaptation of "Change Detection Task" (CDT).
Our version of CDT includes 3 types of task (change detection of color, orientation, and shape). The application has 4 parts: Instruction, Trial mode, Training/Test, and Results.
Instructions contain detailed task description and a few trials including feedback on success detection. In the Trial mode, it is possible to try all types of the task at different levels.
Training/Test has 7 sequences and 20 trials per one sequence for each type of task. The success rate is evaluated after each sequence and based on it the level for the following sequence is set.
The levels differ in the number of presented stimuli ranging from 2 to 7 on each side of the screen. Thus the task is adaptive.
Charts with the levels reached in each sequence and comparison of the highest reached levels in each type of task are presented in the Results. Training and Test data are saved and can be exported for statistical analysis.
The application is not web-based and the Internet connection is not required for its use, it does not compare the performance with others. The application is available in Czech and English.
There is an administrator interface in which it is possible to create a new user and set the number of trials and the presentation speed of stimuli in Trial mode for all users on that device.
