Representation of "Pseudoreality" in Chain E-mails and Their Perception by Seniors

Abstract

Multiple chain e-mails circulate among e-mail users. It is possible to recognize different manners how to cope with them, from intentional deletion or automatic removal from mailboxes or their ignoration to their regular reading or even forwarding.

In connection with the recent presidental election in the Czech Republic, the premise chain e-mails that were circulating especially among seniors influenced the results of this election appeared. The aim of this contribution is to present the results of a testing collective case study realized in two senior clubs outside Prague.

The findings are presented in the context of theoretical concepts relating to the problematics of reality and its representation.
