Digital literacy has been a highly discussed topic in the context of Czech education in the last few years. I has been discussed in the way of the concept itself and in the way of development in pre-primary, primary and secondary education.
The aim of the study is to unify and present conceptual reference model of digital literacy in the field of Czech education as a starting point for further methodological and research studies. The study introduces the concept model of digital literacy, its evolution and its relationship with other literacies (eg computer literacy, ICT literacy, or media literacy).
The study presents digital competencies, their sub-components and levels in the context of the needs of development of digital literacy in education. The presented definitions and conclusions are discussed in the context of foreign sources and the current discussion in the Czech Republic.
