The soul and life - the soul and ratio. Augustine's criticism of the final proof in Plato's Phaedo

Abstract

Augustine's scepticism towards the fourth proof for soul's immortality from Plato's Phaedo 102b-107a, is probably motivated by his aim of proving the immortality of the soul not through its relationship to life, but through its relationship to the ratio.
