In 2017, the National Library of the Czech Republic conducted the repetition of a nationwide survey of children focusing on reading books, reader's behavior, the usual ways of spending leisure time, the influence of family and school environment on the relationship of children to books and reading in general (the first survey was carried out in 2013/2014). The subject of the survey was a representative sample of 2009 respondents aged 6 to 19, selected in accordance with the socio-demographic structure of the population of the Czech Republic.
