Abstrakt
This popularizing article provides a synopsis of the Symposium Remembering Prague Spring 1968 which appeared, under the author's editorship, in Czech Sociological Review 2018. The author describes his original intentions as the editor and the eventual shape the symposium has taken including its weak points.
He claims that the Prague Spring remains a relevant and controversial subject and supports his claim with some of the ideas expressed by the contributors. He also places the symposium into a broader academic and political context.
The purpose of this article is to disseminate the interpretations of the Prague Spring and the year 1968 more generally presented in the symposium Remembering Prague Spring 1968 among British and international readers.
