Abstract
A parallel suggested by Amos Oz between Israeli peacemaking Left and the Biblical Judas: Just as Judas's idealistic expectations about Jesus had lead to his crucifixion, so also the idealistic claims of Israel's peacemaking activists put the State under the test, the reluts of which they are not able to bear.
