General extenders in English and Czech

Abstract

The paper is a contrastive corpus-based study which explores English and Czech 'general extenders' (e.g. and stuff like that, or something, a takový věci, nebo něco) in informal spoken language. It shows the formal diversity of general extenders and discusses their discourse functions.
