Abstract
DBS involves stereotactical implantation of electrodes powered by a pulse generator into the specific brain regions. In psychiatry it is used experimentally, most frequently for treatment of refractory depression and OCD.
More recently, there have been reports on successful administration of DBS in therapy of addictions, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and dementia.
