Abstract
Emil Brunner is mostly known for his conception of truth as an encounter, eristics, non-institucional ecclesiology, eschatology, often problematized natural theology, emphasis on mission and church preaching, but also from a field of social-ethics. Less often, however, is his name associated with pneumatology.
It's nothing strange due to central themes of his works and big discussions, which have entered general consciousness. Nevertheless, the matter of the Holy Spirit is still very important for Brunner.
Also the matter of Holy Spirit is very actual nowadays due to relativization of truth, growth of "feelingologies" and tendencies of conspirational thinking. The "finest" God person is in danger of becoming, against His will, an auspices of various nonsenses.
Unsatisfactory theological foothold in this field leaves space for several ways of abuse of God's name. If Brunner's time required a direct illumination of the themes he was mainly devoted to, then today's time demands his pneumatology, which can be used not only in the troubles of our time but which also draws in more detail to the contours of his theology, which has set its roots even in the Czech environment.
