Abstract
This book, prompted by the milestone 60th birthday of sociologist Jiří Šubrt, represents the author's professional work in its multifaceted and specific forms. The book is formally divided into three parts: the first contains contributions to the history of sociology; the second represents the author's active engagement in organizing professional debates at various levels in recent decades; the third part includes texts representing the subject of historical sociology.
