Publication at Faculty of Education |
2018

Abstract

Revised and enlarged publication of a book, originally printed in 2009. Its first part treats the history of two monasteries which had once belonged to the medieval kingdom of Bohemia, but which are now situated beyond the borders of Czech Republic due to subsequent changes of the border lines (St.

Marienthal, Žďár). The middle part of the book focuses on contacts of Bohemian monasteries with Cistercian institutions in adjacent land, and, as a new feature, on the mother houses in present-day Germany and Austria.

The final chapters take up the issue of monasteries in present-day Germany and Austria which held property complexes in Bohemia (Waldsassen, Altzelle, Grünhain, Zwettl).
