Abstract
The base of successful learning is solving problems. It helps to develop creativity and cultivate it.
The aim is to show how pupils can learn about different word problem solving strategies, and that problem solving is a creative activity during which they can find several correct ways to the result. For selected problems, suitable solving procedures are presented and compared with 14-15-year old pupils' solutions.
