The article is dedicated to the first violent conflict of the Cold War in the American continent. It is so called Guatemalan Revolution that was also caused thanks to the relations between Czechoslovakia and Guatemala from 1944 to 1954.

The Czechoslovaks sold arms to the regime of Jácobo Arbenz that served as a pretext for the United States to help to overthrow of their government. This history can serve as a rare example when a small Central European country can play a role in the events of the Cold War.
