Abstract
The monograph analyzes Czech, Slovak and Polish societies from the perspective of festivity, which it understands in the most general sense, as the opposite pole of the ordinary. The authors focus official holidays and national, provincial and municipal celebrations, minority ethnic and religious celebrations, church and family holidays, as well as occasions that are not celebrated or are even prohibited.
