Abstract
The anthology is a result of the conference organised by Department of semiotics Charles University and Department of cultural studies South Bohemian University. The published texts represent a different thematical and methodological position for grasping a conception of death and other connected terms.
Common attempt is to show a vital image of death acting as a shifting function of problematics discussed by certain texts.
