Morphological typology of Brazilian Portuguese: from flexion to isolation

Abstract

This article has two main objectives. The first one is to highlight the distinctive character of the main morphosyntactic differences of the Brazilian Portuguese versus the European Portuguese.

The second one is to check whether the changes realized in Brazilian Portuguese have any influence on the morphological typology of this language.
