Aging and Reaching Old Age in Africa?

Abstract

The paper discusses the issue of aging and advanced age as observed in the African country of Uganda and the subject is further developed with a focus group research. The author tried to assess the availability of medical care for the 60+ citizens as experienced by the healthcare staff of medical and social Non-Government Organizations (NGOs).

The document examines the different aspects of life that the people live in the underdeveloped countries of sub-Saharan Africa. Basically, the paper treats the subject of aging and life prolongation on the African continent.

The process of aging has enlarged the targeted group of seniors that previously used to be just a minor age group in Africa. The author suggested hypotheses on a potential quantitative research.
