The need to discuss the problems of (not only national) history or answer to Michael Hochedlinger

Abstract

The polemic with the Austrian historian concerns the newly founded institution House of Austrian History, resp. the related public debates on contemporary history. The author argues the need for free controversy over Hochedlinger's view that institutions of this type or public debates are politicized catechesis, a reed of politically dominated moralism and humanitarianism.
