Abstract

This paper deals with the attitude of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (ECCB) to religious re-emigrants from Zelów and Volhynia. After the Second World War it began the returning of the Czech people from the city of Zelów in Poland and Ukrainian region of Volhynia to their fatherland.

All of them desired to have a bright future. The idea of returning has emerged as a necessity, due to the deterioration of living conditions in Poland and Ukraine (SSSR) and on the other hand, the government of Czechoslovakia was in need to populate a borderland region.
