Abstract

The presented publication follows the textbook History of Ethical Theories I, published for the first time in 2004. It affects the development of ethical thinking from Kant to pragmatism.

The focus is on the most important personalities important for the development of ethics of this period. Due to the revolution of ethical thinking brought about by Kant, the various starting points and overlaps arising from the works of his predecessors are first explained in the interpretation of his ethics.

The content of the work is the ethical systems of the following authors: Kant, Fichte, Hegel, Schelling, Feuerbach, Marx, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Bentham, J. S.

Mill, Comte, Spencer, James and Dewey. This interpretation should enable the reader to enter the ethics of the 20th and 21st centuries.
