According to the amendment of the Education Act No. 561/2004, valid from September 1th 2016, deaf pupils who prefer Czech sign language in communication should be taught in Czech sign language and in the written form of Czech language, too. At the same time, the outputs from the non-linguistic subjects are defined in Czech sign language and also in written Czech for pupils who are educated in Czech sign language.
The paper deals with the role of written Czech in science (non-linguistic) subjects in education of deaf pupils who prefer Czech sign language as their first language in communication.
