Title of the paper: Rhetoric and Manipulation in Shakespeare's Roman Plays Setting for plays Julius Caesar and Coriolanus, Shakespeare's Rome is a place of intense power struggles and manipulation. These do not limit themselves to main protagonists but also involve the people of Rome whose good will and support are either fought for or despised.
Both plays thus abound in real and verbal battles. This paper therefore concentrated on rhetoric and psychological manipulation that is present in these plays and contrasted different verbal strategies that appear in these plays.
