Publication at Hussite Theological Faculty |
2018

Abstract

The initial part of the study outlines the origin of the feast of Corpus Christi in the 13th century and the various sets of liturgical texts prepared for its celebration in the context of mass and daily prayer. In particular, attention is paid to a theological content of the original liturgical compositions created for the fest.

The following part of the study focuses on liturgical and theological adaptations and transformations of the feast's traditional liturgical texts and its theologies in the 16th and early 17th century Utraquist liturgical sources, namely mass books Voltářní knihy of Adam Táborský and Pravidlo služebností of Tobiáš Závorka Lipenský, and the hymnal Písně chval božských prepared by the same author.
