International Autumn School of Fennistics - Prague 2018 is a part of a conference series, which is organised by Finnish departments of four Central European universities - University in Greifswald, University in Cologne, University in Warsaw and Charles University. The first conference was held in Greifswald in October 2017, in 2018 it was hosted by Faculty of Arts in Prague.
The whole project is supported by Opetushallitus (part of the Finnish Ministry of Education), which supports teaching and research of Finnish language, literature, history and culture outside Finland. Every year, the conference offers teachers, master students and PhD students from the above mentioned universities a possibility to present their research on various topics from Finnish lingustics to Finnish literature and socioculture, but also to share their experience from learning and teaching Finnish as a foreign language, get a feedback, create new contacts and networks, and discuss new forms of co-operation.
The working language of the Prague conference was Finnish and the main topic was "Finland and Finnish language in Central Europe".
