Professor Francis Hyhlík and its contribution to the formation of adult education in Czechoslovakia

Abstract

The study is dedicated to the personality of Professor František Hyhlik, a psychologist, a pedagogue, an educator and, above all, one of the pioneers of pedagogy of adults. The text is dedicated to his personality and work, he follows his professional career as well as publishing activities.

The main attention is paid to his role as the main coordinator of research work in the sphere of education and adult education within the state program of basic research. He is particularly concerned about his extraordinary interest in developing the theory and practice of pedagogy of adults.
