Abstract
The paper deals with local based education - an educational method for sustainable development. The main topic is "place", which is viewed from the perspective of humanistic geography.
This method researches relations between pupils and place, educates about place, and strengthens their relations to place. The main propagator of this method in Czechia is SEVER.
Its long-term program "Škola pro udržitelný život" connects teachers and schools, provides teachers' trainings, professional facilitation and funding opportunities.
