Abstract
Controlling and homogeneous laboratory environment is one of the greatest assets (and a drawback) of an experimental approach to emotion. Yet how can strong emotion be induced in such conditions? How to elicit sadness or anger in the participant? Is it preferable to use pictures, film excerpts or real life methods? The talk will review all of the options for experimental emotion elicitation and will give a comprehensive summary of their respective advantages and disadvantages.
Moreover, the new Czech database of film stimuli for the use in Czech emotion research will be introduced.
