The article deals with the approach to manager training and development, analyzes the bases on the basis of the characteristics of managerial work, and uses the results of REFLEX 2010 international research focusing on transferable competencies, the skills and abilities most demanded by graduates, as future managers, and other research related to Competence approach. Recommendations for the success of the learning process itself are formulated on the basis of a theories of intentional changes and the application of the Competency-Based Education approach.
