Landscape and Literature resp. Literary Studies

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2018

Abstract

The essay applies to the taboo of landscape as a category of literary studies after Josef Nadler's notorious "Literary History of the German tribes and landscapes," which shows at least in the later editions clear traces of the Nazi ideology. At the same time, however, the first version of this literary history is being questioned about its cultural-scientific potential in the modern sense.
