It even Goes to Church with You. Stereotype, Concept Profiles and Image Schemas Related to a Certain Taboo Body Part

Abstract

Text focuses on the Czech vulgarism prdel ('ass') and the corresponding stereotype. Within the scope of four profiles (manifestation, localization, function and gesture), the dictionary and textual data reveal the richness of meanings pointing to a number of conceptual areas via metaphor and metonymy.

This leads to the formulation of more general semantic-pragmatic and cultural aspects of the corresponding vulgarism.
