Written Correspondence of the Czech Deaf: late 1980s and early 1990s

Abstract

The analysis and interpretation of 87 letters written in Czech by the Czech deaf has shown how and to what extent the subject matter is put in the background in this type of communication and what features contribute to the dominating phatic function (aimed at contact).
