"Avian hollow bonelet" - The role of Zbyněk Žába during the archaeological excavation in the mastaba of Ptahshepses

Abstract

Professor Zbyněk Žába laid, through his scholarly activities at the end of the 1950s and during the 1960s, the foundations of the today's success of Czech Egyptology. He devoted his attention to the excavation of the Ptahshepses mastaba during which he tried to used up-to-date archaeological methods.
