In the study, selected language, speech and communication issues concerning the specific aspects of the linguistic and communication situation of the Czech deaf are examined, especially with regard to the iconicity of their natural language, i.e. Czech Sign Language.
The reflections focus mainly on its lexical or lexical-semantic level, particularly on its so-called visual symbolism (the projection of iconicity into phonology). Based on the observations, the authors try to describe "the linguistic worldview of (Czech) sign language" and even of the communication mediated by this language.
