Neglected Applications of Conic Sections in Descriptive Geometry

Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to show how one of interesting conic section applications related to sundial construction was taught at secondary schools in Austro-Hungary Empire period. Brief sundial history is also mentioned together with basic terms and principles of their construction.
