Sodium-chloride difference (diff[NaCl]) like the anion gap may turn attention to a cause of metabolic acid base balance disturbance

Abstract

The traditional approach of acid-base balance evaluation is based on Henderson-Hasselbalch aquation complemented by the anion gap. We give a case history as an example of a diff[NaCl] contribution to acid-balance evaluation.
