Abstract
The book is partly an autobiographical reflection of Nykl's life between 1916-1918, but it also presents a description of and comments on the activities of Czech Americans and the headquarters of the Bohemian National Alliance. The editor has supplied an introductory chapter tracking Nykl's activites during the war evaluating the most imporatnt themes which the author covered.
