Abstract

Loess, witness of ice age dust storms. Loess is one of the key pieces of evidence of Earth's dynamics and surface motions.

In order for loess to form, large masses of dust had to be put in motion. Once this motion stopped, humic soils began to form in a stable environment just as we know it today.

However, soils, as well as loess, are beginning to move once again due to human influence.
