Jiří Němec on the film, Franz Kafka and in cooperation with Jan Němec

Abstract

A study on the interest of philosopher Jiří Němec (1932-2001) about Franz Kafka's work and about film art in the first half of the sixties (especially the films by Federico Fellini, Luis Buñuel and Ingmar Bergman). At the same time, he participated with his cousin, director Jan Němec (1936-2016), to write a screenplay for the adaptation of The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.
