Abstract

Description: Paper is dedicated to the phenomenon of boredom at school. At first we focus on brief investigation of current theoretical conceptualisations relevant to understanding of boredom and boredom coping in educational context, emphasising the analysis of personality-situation constellations in boredom experience (state boredom as a consequence of potentially boring situation versus trait boredom as a personal characteristics that predispose some students to experience boredom more often than the others).

We also focus on the topic of boredom diagnostics and boredom coping strategies. Based on research findings we try to answer the following questions: What the boredom is? What school subjects students experience boredom the most at? Who is responsible for the boredom at school? How students react to the experience of boredom
