Abstract
The review summarizes Tomas Jirsa's book Physiognomy of Writing: In the folds of a literary ornament and goes into a controversy with the author's thesis about the ornamental nature of the text or writing itself and suggests that the term "physiognomy of writing" theoretically overloads the functional concept of style.
