Abstract
Based on the research in 2013 and 2017 among high school Latin teachers, the author analyzes the status quo of Latin as a school subject at high schools, as well as its development in the last 5 years - the students' interest, the offer at the schools, influnce of the new curricula, development in the number of applicants to the Classical Philology at the Czech philosophical faculties.
