The fourth, updated textbook edition is intended for all who wish to improve their French pronunciation. For that reason it focuses mainly on the exposition of the sound system of contemporary French and the sound qualities of French prosody.
The book also contains general information on the language, transcription overview, an explication of the relationship of phonetics and phonology and a dictionary of phonetic terms.
