Abstract
The term denotes properties of an utterance (discourse unit), namely their formal variations emerging in their anchoring in a unique communicative situation. The term is conntected to the sentence vs. utterance distinction.
Some of the variations can be described in terms of syntax; the others are of pragmatic and phonetic nature.
